Producer Camp #1
Stockholm, Sweden — October 13th, 2018
Giving artists tools and knowledge to take a greater role in the studio as producers.
To empower artists and songwriters in the studio, we started a music production course for female and non-binary creators. The first one took place at the Spotify HQ in Stockholm in the fall of 2018. Eleven participants spent 6 days learning or brushing off their skills in basic vocal production, studio terminology and beat making as well as getting inspired by production secrets behind famous tracks.
The participants were female and non-binary artists in different genres and levels of knowledge in music production. We had the honor to welcome Beri Gerwise, Fatima Jelassi, Ana Diaz, Iman Conta Hultén, Janice Kavander, Saint Toll Wood, Linnea Henriksson Naomi Namasenda, Maria Andersson, Naomi Pilgrim and Svea Kågemark to the first Equalizer Producer Camp.
Guest teachers included Salem Al Fakir and Vincent Pontare, Jenny and Cecilia Vaz, Charlie Bernardo and Trakgirl.
Thank you to Northbound Studios, Gottefar, Tracklib, Audio Tehnica and XLN.
With female we refer to anyone who identifies as female, cis or trans. With non-binary we refer to anyone who identifies outside the gender binary.
Since it launched in 2017, Equalizer has involved more than 100 songwriters, producers and industry professionals in networking sessions, the podcast, producer camps and more. We’ve had the privilege of welcoming some of the world’s greatest writers and producers on board, including Noonie Bao, Veronica Maggio, Katy Perry, Max Martin, Shellback, Kygo, Mabel, Linnea Henriksson and many, many more.
Equalizer is focused on giving female and non-binary songwriters and music producers support in their careers. However, we welcome all genders to join the journey towards equality, and invite facilitators, guest speakers and/or guests to our activities – no matter their gender.
